Smoking: Students generally smoke in, out and around the school.
Environment surrounding the school: people don’t take care.
Rubbish and recycling. It’s obvious that we don’t use recycling.
Bad smell. The school is located near bad smelling sources

It will be better telling these problems to your village council or region ... not starting in the Environment or Health Minister.
4. If it is so important to have a clean environment Why the environment is so dirty in ours cities?
We think the cleanness is not so neglected in Spain
5. What can we do?
We suggest to motivatethe students with quiz or prizes to compete with others schools.

Interviewing The Minister for the Health and children from Ireland Mr Micheal Martin
Mr Micheal Martin was strongly surprised about the problems showed in our poster mainly smoking and rubbish. Half of teenagers students are smokers and they used to smoke even "in the school" during the break time. People don't take care on ther environment around the school: bad smell and rubbish.
The Minister suggest us to continue our work and to contact with local authorities to ask them for help.

They have been very interested about our explanations. They were worried because we have a lot of problems very close to their problems on the past.
Did you know about these problems from Spain? What's your opinion about?
Yes we did, and we think that prevention may change these behavior.
2. Do you have any suggestion to resolve these problems?
It will be necessary to make campaign to raise public awareness, helped by public administration. It’s important the representation of all social sectors.
3. Who must start these actions?
First of all you must present these problems to your regional representatives, the press. You will need help from your council.
4. Where do you think we will address our problems?
Even if you send letters to your regional representatives, the best way would be to meet them directly and tell your problems and your already started actions to solve it.
5. Do you think our participation in Young Minds project it will be useful?
Your participation wouldn’t be usefulif you stop here. It’ll be very important to follow with your actions and to implicate the administration representatives.

Ms Laila Dalha is a Intergovernmental Relation Ship, and our interview was short, but she told us that she knows the problem with the tobacco in Spain, but she couldn’t imagine our rubbish problem.

We have discussed our problems about rubbish accumulation around the village and in the school. Mrs Helene was surprised … she said “It’s incredible!”
These problems should have been resolved 10 years ago! If this was happening in my country I would tried to solve it many years ago.

Mirklos Persanyi is the Hungarian Minister for Environment, and when we told him about our Spanish problems he wasn’t very surprised because he told us “Here, in Hungary, we have the same problems”, and he suggest “I think you must make locals campaign; and "people must collaboration cleaning an area, and then maintain it clean”

Interviewing Dr. Maria Michela Morese, Adviser from the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory
She didn't know these problems from Spain, but she agreed that similar problems may be found in the south of Italy. In Italy they have already undertook a national program (with international collaboration) to improve the environment in these problematic regions (South).
Interviewing Ms Gregoria von Amann, responsible for health school in Portugal (Health Ministry)
Showing the Spanish work to Mr Albertus Jansen (EEA)
Mr Jansen has been interested about our main problems: rubbish and recycling, smoking. It’s very difficult to obtain results from our actions in a short time as Young Minds project: We have done an ‘No Smoking Campaign’, we sent a letter to the person responsible for Environmental issues in our town, and we made some containers to separate used batteries, paper and plastic.
We need more time in our schools to follow with our Young Minds actions.
He agreed about it but Mr. Jansen didn’t know the best way the best way to follow these actions.
It will be urgent to start other actions to continue our project … the Young Minds frame has been a very good starting point and we hope it wouldn’t be the end point too!

We have showed our poster and web site trying to know a way to continue with our project in Spain.
We explained her our previous interview with Spanish representatives and the difficulties to found practical solutions or economical support.
Dr Eva Csobod encouraged us to join “ecoschool” project. She will send us information about it and the possibility to participate as school observers.
News from the Argentina’s Environment Secretary: Mr Atilo Savino
1. Did you know about these problems from Spain?
Yes, in Argentina we have a lot of similar problems as tobacco at school, rubbish in and around the schools.
2. What’s your opinion about these problems?
Bad smell problem may be stopped talking with the responsible of the company. They can start a program in order to reduce the smell sources, but for them you will need public involucrate.
The rubbish problem is more difficult, I think the best solution may be hard punishment.
3. Where do you think we will address our problems?
You must go to the council village and tell there your problems, and perhaps you will have answer… or not.

Yes, but I did hope that environmental awareness of environmental problems.

Very good presentation to increase the awareness of environmental problems.

Students must be given their own means, including financial means, to solve the problems around them.

I think it’simportant to call attencion to these problems and your work is fantastic.

I think you need to talk to the local decision makers even if they reject you at the beginning, but don’t give up.

Governments should deal with the problems, but a local initiation should be awareness raising, so keep doing the good work!

I think you should keep asking for help from the local authorities, because they are close to the problems and way understand them better.
