The Danish school-system  - the Folkeskole - is to contribute to the pupils’ understanding of man’s interplay with nature. A »green touch« is therefore to be integrated into all school subjects, and the schools are to co-operate in reating a sound and stable viable environment in the local society.

 

Facts about Denmark.

 

The little mermaid:

 

You can find the little mermaid in Copenhagen sitting on a stone in the waters edge.
Many tourists go to Copenhagen to see her. Three times she has lost her head! Someone has sawed off her head!!

The royal family:

 

Denmark is a monarchy. Queen Margrethe is married to prince Henrik.

He was born in France.
Margrethe and Henrik have to sons, Frederik and Joakim. Frederik has a girlfriend named Mary Donaldson. Mary is from Australia. They are going to get married this summer.
Joakim is married to Alexandra. She is from Hong Kong. Joakim and Alexandra have to children, Nicolai who is 4 years old and Felix who is 1 year old.

 

The schools in Denmark:

 

You start schooling when you are 5-7 years old.

Almost all children start in preschool. Every year you start in the next class.

First year class 0 and next year class 1 next year class 2 and so on. You have to go to school 10 years.
At 8th grade you get marks, that is when you are 13-15 years old.
Normaly the school starts at 8 am and ends about 14.30 when you are 13 years and older.

 

H.C Andersen:

 

H.C Andersen is a very famous danish storyteller. He has written many different well-known and fine farytales, H.C Andersen died but he's farytales are still alive all around the world.
