Vääksyn yhteiskoulu

 

• In our school there is 462 students and about 50 teachers.
• The students in both schools(Our Upper secondary Shool and basic school is in the same building) are offered a wide choice of subjects varying from such practical subjects as cooking and carpentery to history, science and mathematics. In addition to the mother tongue and the compulsory languages English an Swedish, the studies of French and German are available in both schools.
•  The school year is divided into two terms- the so called autumn term from mid-August to Christmas and the spring term from the beginning of January to the end of May or early June. The school year is also divided into five periods of about seven weeks each, and most of the tuition is given in course from, each course consisting of 38 hours.
• An average shcool day starts at 8 or 9 a.m. and finishes at 2 or 3 o'clock p.m.
• The studenst of both schools are offered a free lunch.
